About the OCEB Free Beta Inducement Program and Half-price Beta Inducement Program: The structure of the five OCEB examinations is explained on this page. If you are accepted into the Free Beta Inducement Program, you will receive a voucher allowing you to take the OCEB Fundamental Beta exam at a Pearson VUE Testing Center within 30 days. If you take the Fundamental exam, you will receive vouchers to take the OCEB Business and Technical Intermediate exams, about a month apart. Each of these vouchers will also be valid for a specific 30 day period. If you take either of the OCEB Intermediate exams, or both (and we encourage you to take both), you will receive vouchers to take the the OCEB Business and Technical Advanced exams, also about a month apart and valid for 30 days. You do not have to pass any of these examinations to move to the next level; in fact, the time required to calculate and evaluate the statistical results wouldn't allow this.

Do I get OCEB Certified? If you pass the required combination of exams, of course you do! As part of our statistical analysis, we will calculate every beta tester's score on the final form of each exam that they take, and compare it to the cutoff score. If your score is equal to or greater than the cutoff, you qualify, according to these established OCEB requirements:

If you pass the Fundamental exam, you're OCEB Certified at the Fundamental Level.
If you pass either Intermediate exam, and the Fundamental exam, you're OCEB Certified on that side (Business or Technical) at the Intermediate level.
If you pass an Advanced exam on one side, and the Intermediate exam on that same side, and the Fundamental exam, you're OCEB certified on that side at the Advanced level, and get our sincere congratulations!
If you pass a higher-level exam but don't pass the lower-level exams required for certification (hey- it happens!), you're still ahead: When OMG makes the standard-form exams available at the Pearson VUE testing centers around the end of 2008, study up and take the lower-level exam that you need to complete your certification. (You'll have to pay the standard fee, of course.) We'll have on record that you passed the higher-level exam, which is valid indefinitely, so we'll put your two (or three!) accomplishments together and award you the highest level certification that you qualify for.
