Issue 10824: Units and types are still problematic (uml2-rtf) Source: The MathWorks (Mr. Alan Moore, alan.moore(at)mathworks.co.uk) Nature: Uncategorized Issue Severity: Summary: Units and types are still problematic. UML notation is not able to show tags of some referenced elements - in case of attributes, they should show tags of type, in case of slots, they should show tags of type of defining feature (secondary reference). Good point - why don't you submit an issue report to the RTF about it - it does seem that particularly in property strings the tags of the "secondary reference" as you nicely put it, should be considered more explicitly. To elaborate, when showing the string for a property in say the attributes compartment of a class, the user may wish to show some tags of the type (called below the secondary reference), as well as tags of the property (by analogy the primary reference). The spec in the profiles section needs to have some more general language to allow this case as well as the more common case where just the tags of the primary reference are shown. Units in SysML happen to be a case in point, where they are tags of the type rather than the property, but it makes sense to show them in the string for the property.
