Issue 10844: Figure D.3 notation (odm-rtf) Source: NIST (Dr. Conrad Bock, conrad.bock(at)nist.gov) Nature: Clarification Severity: Significant Summary: Figure D.3 notation. In Annex D, in Figure D.2, the instance names should be underlined. Some of the association end names are so far from the ends of the lines that it's hard to tell which they are referring to. Resolution: Closed to the resolution of issue 18836, delete Annex D, "Extending the ODM" from the specification. Revised Text: Actions taken: March 30, 2007: received issue April 25, 2014: closed issue Discussion: The RTF agrees with the issue raised against this figure. We advocate methods such as OntoClean, described in this annex for ontology evaluation, but suggest that a better approach would be to develop ontology libraries and additional profiles, together with custom applications, to achieve evaluation goals using the ODM. Using the methods described in the annex for extending the ODM is not recommended. Our recommendation after reviewing this issue and issue 10846 is to remove Annex D altogether End of Annotations:===== m: webmaster@omg.org Date: 30 Mar 2007 00:48:21 -0500 To: Subject: Issue/Bug Report -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Name: Conrad Bock Company: NIST mailFrom: conrad.bock@nist.giv Notification: No Specification: Ontology Definition Metamodel Section: Annex D FormalNumber: ptc/06-10-11 Version: RevisionDate: Page: Nature: Clarification Severity: Significant HTTP User Agent: Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.7.2) Gecko/20040804 Netscape/7.2 (ax) Description Figure D.3 notation.
