Issue 11008: Wrong subsets (uml2-rtf) Source: No Magic, Inc. (Mr. Nerijus Jankevicius, nerijus(at)nomagic.com) Nature: Uncategorized Issue Severity: Summary: Realization is a specialized abstraction relationship between two sets of model elements, one representing a specification (the supplier) and the other represents an implementation of the latter (the client). ComponentRealization incorrectly subsets supplier to define realizing Classifiers (implementation). Required changes: "abstraction" must subset "supplier" and "realizingClassifier" must subset "client". Resolution: Section 7.3.45 does indeed make it clear that the specification is the supplier and the implementation is the client. The implementation depends upon the specification; the specification does not depend upon the implementation. Revised Text: In section 8.3.2 Associations, replace: · abstraction : Component [0..1] The Component that own this Realization and which is implemented by its realizing classifiers.{Subsets Element::owner, DirectedRelationship::source, Dependency::client} · realizingClassifier : Classifier [1..*] A classifier that is involved in the implementation of the Component that owns this Realization. {Subsets Dependency::supplier, DirectedRelationship::target}. by: · abstraction : Component [0..1] The Component that own this Realization and which is implemented by its realizing classifiers.{Subsets Element::owner, Dependency::supplier} realizingClassifier : Classifier [1..*] A classifier that is involved in the implementation of the Component that owns this Realization. {Subsets Dependency::client}. Actions taken: May 16, 2007: received issue April 26, 2010: closed issue Discussion: End of Annotations:===== m: "Nerijus Jankevicius" To: Subject: Component Realization Date: Wed, 16 May 2007 10:55:44 +0300 X-Mailer: Microsoft Outlook Express 6.00.2900.2180 Hello, There are serious bugs in ComponentRealization chapter 2. Wrong subsets. Realization is a specialized abstraction relationship between two sets of model elements, one representing a specification (the supplier) and the other represents an implementation of the latter (the client). ComponentRealization incorrectly subsets supplier to define realizing Classifiers (implementation).
