Issue 11073: Add Entity Name Parameter Id (data-distribution-interop-rtf) Source: Real-Time Innovations (Mr. Kenneth Brophy, ken(at)rti.com) Nature: Uncategorized Issue Severity: Summary: Source: Real-Time Innovations, Inc. (Ken Brophy, ken@rti.com) Summary: A DDS entity name could be serialized within a parameter list, so a corresponding unique parameter Id should be assigned. Resolution: Add parameter Id for Entity Name. Revised Text: Type PSM Mapping EntityName_t struct { string name;} EntityName_t Append to Table 9.11: Name ID Type PID_ENTITY_NAME 0x0062 EntityName_t Resolution: Revised Text: Actions taken: May 25, 2007: received issue Discussion: End of Annotations:===== s is issue # 11073 Add Entity Name Parameter Id Source: Real-Time Innovations, Inc. SysML as currently formed does not appear to support the reusable definition of architecture tied to particular systems. It may be necessary to include some of UML 2.1 Template and Collaboration packages to support this capability. A related case crucial to a huge range of real engineering problems it the ability to parametrise a Block and/or Ports by a signal Type. Block where Signal is a template parameter (The architectural pattern expresses this at an even higher level) Another is the ability to parametrise by an unspecified numerical precision: Block, T takes Float, Double etc. -- Dr Darren R C Kelly, BSc, PhD No Magic Inc., Expert Advisor, Science, Engineering, and Education Phone: +61 (2) 9386 0090 Mobile: +61 (2) 405 029 008 Post: PO Box 1816, Bondi Junction, NSW 1355, Australia
