Issue 14773: Beta 1 Spec: New Annex?: Enumerate the validation rules of BPMN (bpmn2-rtf) Source: Department of Veterans Affairs (Dr. Stephen White, steve.white(at)bookzurman.com) Nature: Enhancement Severity: Significant Summary: This is number 3 of 12 issues submitted by Bruce Silver Enumerate the validation rules of BPMN. Back in the old days when the BPDM guys kept saying BPMN 1.0 had no explicit rules or metamodel, you said it did but it was buried in the narrative. Now you have an explicit metamodel but the rules are still buried in the narrative, and inconsistent from one part to the next. Judging from v1.x it will take years to clean up the narrative, so just enumerate the rules in one place and say this overrides contrary info elsewhere in the narrative. Resolution: Revised Text: Actions taken: November 20, 2009: received issue Discussion: The FTF acknowledges the issue and thinks is a good idea to create a normative appendix with the validation rules. Nevertheless, we think it is not possible to properly resolve the issue during the available time of the FTF. So the proposal is to defer it until the RTF, which can begin as soon as the FTF completes the final report.
