I'm pretty sure that you know that aliases are possible using the package import. Could a package import itself? /Tim -----Original Message----- From: Chonoles, Michael J [michael.j.chonoles@lmco.com] Received: Dienstag, 17 Jan. 2012, 20:12 To: issues@omg.org [issues@omg.org] CC: uml-spec-simplification@omg.org [uml-spec-simplification@omg.org]; uml2-rtf@omg.org [uml2-rtf@omg.org] Subject: UML 2.4/2.5 Aliases There is no capability in UML for giving an element an alternate name (an alias) within the package that defines it. A package cannot import itself directly and while there could be indirect (cycle or inherited) imports, the aliasing would not work inside the owning package.
