This International Standard supports the Meta Object Facility (MOF) Core defined in ISO/IEC 19508 by defining mechanisms for the use of XML elements and attributes for representation of objects defined using the MOF.
It defines mechanisms that may be used to link objects within the same file of in different files; supports references between objects in terms of Ids and UUIDS; and supports validation of XMI documents using XML schemas.
