Issue 17919: Location p 146 Classifier Description: isAbstract (uml25-ftf) Source: Soluta.net (Dr. Adriano Comai, acomai(at)soluta.net) Nature: Clarification Severity: Minor Summary: current text: “isAbstract : Boolean [1..1] = false If true, the Classifier does not provide a complete declaration and cannot be instantiated.” [AC] I would remove “does not provide a complete declaration and”, because the completeness of declaration is not the point of abstraction. Resolution: Revised Text: Actions taken: September 26, 2012: received issue Discussion: The isAbstract indicates an intent, a Classifier with isAbstract = true, may possibly have all features complete. The implementation may enforce that it cannot be instantiated, but should not force that all features are complete Michael Jesse Chonoles End of Annotations:===== s is issue # 17919 Problem: 9.060 Severity: Minor Type: Clarification Location p 146 Classifier Description Title: isAbstract Description: current text: .isAbstract : Boolean [1..1] = false If true, the Classifier does not provide a complete declaration and cannot be instantiated.. However Components also have a concept of indirect instantiation. It's not clear to me how this relates to them being abstract. Can a Component with isAbstract=true and isIndirectlyInstantiated=true be instantiated at run-time? Dave On 17/02/13 22:27, Manfred R.
