Issue 18691: Integrate SysML Requirements and Constraints (updm-2-0-rtf) Source: Thematix Partners LLC (Mr. Lonnie VanZandt, lonniev(at)gmail.com) Nature: Enhancement Severity: Significant Summary: Constraints and Parametric Blocks in the SysML notation have proven their value in enabling the use of models as parameters for discipline-specific analysis and simulation. Likewise, SysML Requirements have proven their usability for annotating models with Requirements and with Requirements Traceabilities (such as Satisfaction, Derivation, etc.) The user community (including MITRE, Raytheon, Intercax, and professional services architects such as No Magic staff) requests that UPDM integrate the Requirements, Constraints, and Parametric Blocks into UPDM. Then, Enterprise Architects using UPDM can perform their systems and econometric analyses and their requirements engineering with their UPDM models that they can perform today in SysML modeling. (How and Where such integration is accomplished is a topic worthy of deliberation but is beyond the scope of a customer-centric requirement request.) As a further input, we can report that the Defense Information Systems Agency, Enterprise Engineering (DISA/EE) is using SysML capabilities in UPDM Level 1 tools (incorporating SysML) in providing Architectures such as the Joint Information Environment. DISA/EE prefers to have more than 1 vendor tool and thus values the interoperability provided by OG UPDM/UML/SysML/XMI. The closer the integration of such SysML features within UPDM, the more useful the resultant set of interoperable toolsets. -----Original Message----- From: Juergen Boldt [mailto:juergen@omg.org] Sent: Wednesday, May 01, 2013 2:55 PM To: issues@omg.org; updm-2-0-rtf@omg.org Subject: issue 18691 -- UPDM 2 RTF issue From: webmaster@omg.org Date: 01 May 2013 11:59:06 -0400 To: Subject: Issue/Bug Report X-Brightmail-Tracker: AAAAAA== X-Brightmail-Tracker: AAAAAA== ******************************************************************************* Name: Lonnie VanZandt Employer: No Magic, Inc. mailFrom: lvanzandt@nomagic.com Terms_Agreement: I agree Specification: UPDM Section: 7.6.3 FormalNumber: dtc/2012-12-17 Version: 2.1 Doc_Year: 2012 Doc_Month: December Doc_Day: 12 Page: 53 Title: Integrate SysML Requirements and Constraints Nature: Enhancement Severity: Significant CODE: 3TMw8 B1: Report Issue Description: Constraints and Parametric Blocks in the SysML notation have proven their value in enabling the use of models as parameters for discipline-specific analysis and simulation.
