Issue 2433: CosNotification -- MaxEventsPerConsumer = 0 for infinity? (notif_service-rtf) Source: (, ) Nature: Uncategorized Issue Severity: Summary: Summary: The CosNotification spec is careful to say that, for the administrative properties (MaxQueueLength, MaxConsumers and MaxSuppliers), the default value is zero, and it means that there is no limit. As far as I can see there is not similar wording for the QoS property MaxEventsPerConsumer. Two questions that should probably be answered are: - is there a magic value that means "no limit"? - what is the default value if it"s not eqplicitly set at any level? I would suggest that, for consistency with MaxQueueLength, the magic value should be 0, and the default should be that same value. Resolution: Added sentence to end of MaxEventsPerConsumer section of section 2.5.5 Revised Text: Actions taken: February 3, 1999: received issue November 16, 1999: closed issue Discussion: Synopsis: The spec states that a 0 value for MaxQueueLength, MaxConsumers and MaxSuppliers means those QoS properties impose no limited on the entity they are intended to constrain. The is not similar wording for MaxEventsPerConsumer. The proposed resolution is to add similar wording for MaxEventsPerConsumer, making 0 be the default value meaning there is no limit on the number of events that can be queued per consumer. Disposition: I agree with the issue and the proposed resolution VOTE: YES means to add the recommended text; NO means to do nothing End of Annotations:===== To: issues@omg.org Subject: CosNotification -- MaxEventsPerConsumer = 0 for infinity?
