Summary: This issue is to ensure that the MOF metamodel contains sufficient information
to hold information available through the RefObject and related interfaces.
Examples include the metaObject-instances relationship.

XMI documents using the MOF DTD should include sufficient information to be used
as backup/restore and initialization of a MOF-compatible system.  The MOF
interfaces should be complete enough to enable this capability.

Steve,

In my opinion, this issue is not well founded.  

The information that you listed in your issue and previously consists
of:

  1)  the meta-object / instance relationships, and 

  2)  the ref_id values for each meta-object.

Neither of these examples belong in the MOF meta-meta-model.  Rather
they are fundamental properties of all meta-data ... at any
meta-level.

Think about it.  We could put model elements into the MOF
meta-meta-model to explicitly represent (say) ref_id values, but that
only "solves" the "problem" in that meta-model.  How do you solve it
in (say) the UML meta- model?  How does on Package that uses one way
of representing meta-data identity interoperate with one that uses
another way?  Suddenly you've got a whole bunch of new problems to
solve ...

The MOF already provides interfaces to access to the information that
XMI needs.  There is no interface completeness issue.
