Issue 2969: C&M ofAudio/Video Streams (avstreams-rtf) Source: (, ) Nature: Clarification Severity: Summary: I am going to implement OMG Control and Management of Audio/Video Streams specification. We used IONA's implementation: Orbix MediaStreams but we are not fully satisfied with it. I have some questions: 1. StreamCtrl has a 'Status' property which is 'seqflowStatus' - probably sequence of flowStatus structures. But there is no such typedef in the IDL specification. 2. StreamCtrl has alse A_parties and B_parties sequences. The same problem. These are properties which have data type "ANY". The standard properties should have the IDL rigidly defined, but since it is carried in an ANY, the text can get away with being rather sloppy. HOwever, for interoperbility and interworking the syntax really needs to be tied down for the property types defined in the spec. I think this warrants an omg clarification Issue to the Revision task force. However, I think it is obvious that the sequence is the correct type for seqflowstatus. also sequence and sequence seem to be the obvious syntaxes for the A_parties and B_parties property values, respective. It supports both full and light profile implementations and also multipoint bindings. You can find it in the TAO release at http://www.cs.wustl.edu/~schmidt/TAO.html Hope this helps.
