Summary: When the UML spec standardises an XMI-generated interchange format for 
UML
models, it should include:

  * the "input" MOF meta-model for UML that was used to generate the
    interchange format, and

  * a formal statement of the other XMI "parameters" used to generate
    the interchange format.

If possible, the UML spec should include a definitive meta-model for 
UML
expressed as a MOF / XMI document.  This is a MOF alignment issue.

Revised Text: In appendix G of the Superstructure document (formal/05-07-04) and appendix A of the
Infrastructure document (ptc/04-11-16) add the following sentence as the last sentence in
