Issue 4587: Clock Interface (time-ftf) Source: (Ms. Dock Allen, dockallen(at)comcast.net) Nature: Severity: Summary: The enhanced views of time added an interface for user-defined clocks, including requesting synchronized time. However, there is no way to tell the ORB what clock to use for the build in CORBA time-related functions (timeouts, etc). At a minimum, it would be good to be able to get a synchronized ORB clock. Can we move these interfaces into CORE for RT CORBA? Dock What exactly are you proposing, in terms of changes in IDL and semantics to which specification? By CORE for RT CORBA do you mean the RT CORBA spec? (Now Ch 24 of CORBA 2.5) What exactly cannot be achieved by implementing the RT CORBA and Enhanced View of Time specifications (with their existing APIs and semantics) on the same platform? Jon. I had the same questions. I also did not understand what exactly was being asked for. Any clarification would help a lot. Thanks, Jishnu.
