Issue 6513: Components and artifacts: Dependency problem - UML2 Superstructure (uml2-superstructure-ftf) Source: oose Innovative Informatik eG (Mr. Tim Weilkiens, tim.weilkiens(at)oose.de) Nature: Uncategorized Issue Severity: Summary: Reading the component section of the specification I come across a dependency problem. Figure 2-9 shows a white-bix representation of a component. The bottom compartment lists the related artifacts. But the direction of manifest dependency is from the artifact as source to the component as target. So the component does not know anything about its implementing artifacts. In my opinion the artifacts compartment is wrong. Resolution: Revised Text: Actions taken: November 7, 2003: received issue March 9, 2005: closed issue Discussion: The notation has functional use in offering the user a central view to get to the different aspects of a component. The notation provided can be straightforwardly supported by tools since they can find all artifacts that represent a certain component (viz. navigate from the Artifact side: Artifact.manifestation.utilizedElement ) if they wish to support this notation. Disposition: Closed, no change End of Annotations:===== -Return: cris.kobryn@telelogic.com Date: Sat, 08 Nov 2003 07:21:10 -0000 From: "Cris Kobryn" To: juergen@omg.org, issues@omg.org, cris.kobryn@telelogic.com Subject: Fwd: Components and artifacts: Dependency problem - UML2 Superstructure User-Agent: eGroups-EW/0.82 X-Mailer: Yahoo Groups Message Poster X-Originating-IP: 68.71.8.84 X-MIME-Autoconverted: from quoted-printable to 8bit by amethyst.omg.org id hA88L0NA023376 --- In u2p-issues@yahoogroups.com, "Tim Weilkiens" wrote: Reading the component section of the specification I come across a dependency problem.
