Issue 6918: Inconsistencies between Figure 3 and the detailled description of package (uml2-superstructure-ftf) Source: (, ) Nature: Clarification Severity: Minor Summary: "• package: Package [0..1] References the owning package of a package. Subsets NamedElement::namespace." should be "• package: Package [0..1] References the owning package of a type. Subsets NamedElement::namespace." Furthermore, the following description for an association depicted in Figure 43 is missing: nestingPackage: Package [0..1] References the owning package of a package. Subsets NamedElement::namespace. Resolution: see above Revised Text: Actions taken: January 19, 2004: received issue March 8, 2005: closed issue Discussion: It seems that the Superstructure incorrectly reproduced the corresponding diagram from Constructs in the Infrastructure. The following changes are needed in Figure 43: ?? Change the role name of “Package::ownedClassifier” to “Package::ownedType” ?? Change the role name of “Package::packageExtension” to “Package::packageMerge” Also, the following needs to be added to the list of Associations of Package on page 100: ?? nestingPackage: Package [0..1] References the Package that owns this Package. Subsets NamedElement::namespace. The association between Package and Type in UML::Classes::Kernel actually redefines a similar association inherited from InfrastructureLibrary::Core::Basic in which the name of the end is 'ownedType', so I think the name of the association end in UML::Classes::Kernel should be '/ownedType'. So, please review the proposed issues resolutions in this draft ballot and tell me if you agree. The previously proposed resolutions that I have pulled from the ballot to date are: 6077 - due to objections by Jim R 6465 and 6975 because they are dependent on the resolution of 6077 6146 - due to objections by Conrad Remember that the ballot will go out on Friday. So, please send me your input by tomorrow at the latest (I'm travelling on Friday and will have to post the ballot a bit earlier than usual).
