I think that monitors can easily be defined in U2TP - the question is whether we want to add the stereotype Monitor being just a test component, but with the special semantcs that it should not send to the SUT. As I said in Goettingen, monitors are very important in e.g. Telco (testing) - but I am not sure that this justifies to have an additional stereotype deriving from test component. For the A/C I would propose to discuss - Standalone model - Serge - Arbiter - Oystein/Jens (incl. load testing example - Jens) Generator/Scheduler - Paul Monitor - Ina - testLogs - Lulu - Data - Paul - Activities - Ina As Clay will not be on the call, we will discuss XMI next A/C. Resolution: The suggestion is to add a stereotype <> that is a specialization of a test component, which has a typically classifier behavior with the constraint that the monitor is not allowed to output to the SUT. Note that generic monitors and test component can be defined through the template mechanism . Ina has offered to do an example.
