Issue 6958: UML 2 Super / General / specialization labeling convention (uml2-superstructure-ftf) Source: Simula Research Laboratory (Mr. Bran Selic, selic(at)acm.org) Nature: Uncategorized Issue Severity: Summary: In most cases, when a metaclass is refined in a package, the phrase used in the title of the class description is "as specialized". In a few places, however, it is flagged as just "specialized". This needs to be made consistent. Resolution: see above Revised Text: Actions taken: February 4, 2004: received issue March 8, 2005: closed issue Discussion: In line with the conventions adopted in resolution to issue 7158 the following changes are required throughout the document: For each metaclass heading in the Class Descriptions part of each language unit chapter add, in brackets, the name of the sub-package in which the concept is defined as part of the title. (We will no longer use the old “specialized” or “as specialized” designation, since these are all package merge increments and not specializations – as per the new package merge definition. All headings that use that old form will also be changed to the new form.) For example, 11.3.2 AcceptEventAction should be replaced by 11.3.2 AcceptEventAction (from CompleteActions) If a class increment is defined in multiple packages, the packages will be listed in alphabetical order separated by commas. The attached spreadsheet file contains the information on the defining sub-package for every increment in the spec (in Column C “Sub-Package”).
