However sending and receiving are two separate events. However, there is a "Critical Region" CombinedFragment (page 411). A critical region means that traces from this region cannot be interleaved by any other EventOccurences. Also, as you might know, Messages represent several forms of communication: Signal (open arrow head) - asynchronous signal synchCall (filled arrowhead) - synchronous call asynchCall (open arrow head) - asynchronous call there are also create, destroy and return messages. "Synchronous" here is not atomic. In synchronous communication the sender is suspended until the reply from the receiver is available.
