I expected to find the GUID ID for the Defaultcomponentprofile and the
Defaultwebserviceprofile in the respective xsd files.  However, I don't
find any ID or reference to an ID

Discussion: 
we need a way to specify the profile ID in the XSD file using some element/node that is not seen/used in the XML instance and can processed by tooling; this should be in RAS 2.0. We will search for a standard XML schema way to deal with this.
We need some XML expertise to provide guidance on how to resolve this issue.
Resolution:
We propose that we vote to defer this issue.
