- Biomolecular Sequence Analysis Final Revised Submission was recommended to be adopted.
- Genomic Maps Final Revised Submission was recommended to be adopted.
- The Finalisation Task Forces (FTF) for both recommended specifications were chartered. These groups will make sure that the specifications are implementable.
- Initial submission deadline for Bibliographic Query Service RFP extended to 14th February 2000
- The Genomic Maps working group was dismissed with honor, the further responsibility for the specification is now within FTF.
- OpenBSA announced (An Open Source Initiative to implement Biomolecular Sequence Analysis specification)
