Chemical Sample Management RFI lifesci/2001-07-05
Chemical Sample Management RFP lifesci/2002-01-09
Chemistry is at the heart of drug discovery research. The informatics issues faced by researchers related to chemistry in the pharmaceutical and other industries are many and often difficult. Access to the complex information associated with chemical entities is needed throughout the research and development process. The number of synthesized compounds to analyze is increasing rapidly. Researchers require flexible and interoperable computer applications to analyze these large complex data sets. Software developers need access to robust distributed components to deliver this software to scientists. Management of chemical samples, including registration, inventory, storage, retrieval, etc. is an essential process in pharmaceuticals and related industries. Standardized interfaces to chemical sample management systems will improve the cost-effectiveness and quality of these systems by allowing users and integrators to rapidly assemble custom or semi-custom systems using interoperable components and tailored to the needs of specific customers and installations.

This RFP solicits proposals for the management of chemical sample information including the following:

  • Identifying and representing chemical samples
  • Searching and retrieving chemical sample information

Laboratory Activities Broker (LAB) lifesci/2001-11-09
This RFP solicits proposals that define a management system which would describe and control a flow of data between software components that may include manual intervention between steps. The control includes scheduling, execution, tracking, monitoring, and manipulation of data flow elements. The software components can represent, but are not limited to, data, analysis, material, and protocols.

Biomolecular Sequence Analysis Entities (BSANE) lifesci/2000-12-16
The Biomolecular Sequence Analysis (BSA) specification (dtc/00-11-01) defined the interfaces for a number of entities and an analysis framework. The BSA is sufficient for many analyses, and in fact several implementations are underway. In order to address other analyses within the Life Sciences, the specification can be complemented with additional entities. This RFP requests definitions of additional entities.

Clinical Trials Laboratory Data Interchange RFI lifesci/99-03-06
Clinical Trials Laboratory Information Exchange RFP lifesci/2000-09-13
This RFP solicits proposals for service(s) that facilitate specifying, ordering, querying and reporting information pertaining to laboratory tests performed on patient samples for clinical trials. The proposed service(s) shall provide a common interface(s) that can be used by all parties participating in clinical trial laboratory information exchange. This will reduce custom software specification and development for each Clinical trial and individual laboratory.
