OMG has partnered with and/or has close relationships with a number of other organizations. To name a few:

  • The Consortium for IT Software Quality (CISQ) is an industry-led initiative to address the measurement of critical IT application quality attributes. This is a joint effort between OMG and The Software Engineering Institute (SEI) at Carnegie Mellon University. CISQ brings together industry executives from Global 2000 IT organizations, system integrators, outsourcers, and package vendors to jointly address the challenge of standardizing the measurement of IT software quality and to promote a market-based ecosystem to support its deployment.
  • OMG has an excellent working relationship with Health Level SevenĀ® International. Several joint specifications have been completed, including Entity Identification Service (EIS) and Retrieve Update Locate Service (RLUS). OMG has issued the Common Terminology Services RFP through the Analysis and Design Task Force, the first HSSP specification to be issued as a platform specification within OMG. In addition, the two organizations have collaborated on the highly successful SOA in Healthcare Conference, now in its third year.
  • OMG works closely with the Eclipse Foundation, holding several joint events including the Biannual Symposium on Eclipse Open Source Software and OMG Open Specifications. Several OMG standards form the backbone of the Eclipse platform.
  • Wireless Innovation Forum (formerly the SDR Forum) and OMG have a long track record of joint development efforts in the Software Based Communication standards space, such as the Smart Antenna specification. The two groups have a membership discount agreement and are working on a joint whitepaper in addition to future standards development.
  • In the area of Cloud Computing, OMG is part of a collaboration with leading technology Standards Development Organizations (SDOs) to coordinate and communicate standards for Cloud computing and storage. Organizations participating in this round-table style collaboration include: the Distributed Management Task Force (DMTF), the Open Grid Forum (OGF), the Storage Networking Industry Association (SNIA), Open Cloud Consortium (OCC) and the Cloud Security Alliance (CSA). Visit http://cloud-standards.org for more information.
  • MDMI Consortium: The Model Driven Message Interoperability (MDMI) standard addresses message co-existence and interoperability. The MDMI Consortium through MDMI Labs provides the means for sharing costs of adoption via a dedicated, expert team working to provide proof of business and technical value on an aggressive schedule.

OMG also maintains liaison relationships with organizations such as SWIFT, IEEE, and ISO. For the full list of liaison relationships, visit https://www.omg.org/news/about/liaison.htm
