Getting Started with DDS: The IIoT Connectivity Standard
Monday, June 5, 2017 - 2:00 pm to 5:00 pm

Introduced in 2004, the Data Distribution Service (DDS) has been steadily growing in popularity and adoption. Today, DDS is at the heart of a large number of mission- and business-critical systems such as Air Traffic Control and Management, Train Control Systems, Energy Production Systems, Medical Devices, Autonomous Vehicles, Smart Cities and NASA's Kennedy Space Centre Launch System.

Considering the technological trends toward data-centricity and the rate of adoption, tomorrow, DDS will soon be at the heart of an incredible number of Industrial IoT systems.

This tutorial will introduce DDS' key concepts and techniques. Specifically, it will cover DDS abstractions and programming model;  DDS idioms and patterns to architect distributed applications that perform and can expand to Internet scale; and DDS security.

Why Attend:

  • Understand the essence of OMG Data Distribution Service (DDS)
  • Learn how to effectively architect and program DDS-based distributed systems
  • Learn how to grow your system to Internet scale and secure you DDS system.

During the afternoon break and after the event, you will find opportunities to meet the speakers and other attendees in an informal setting to get answers to all your DDS questions.

This complimentary special event is part of the OMG® Technical Meeting, June 5-9, 2017 in Brussels, Belgium.
