Property &
Casualty Insurance Standardization Discussion
A core group of insurance companies, including Penn National and others, has already done quite a bit of work on a standard data
model for Property & Casualty Insurance. This group is exploring
bringing their work into the OMG's rapid, neutral process to jumpstart
the effort and guarantee delivery of a standard in 2007.
We would like to invite you to a meeting on the afternoon of
December 6, 2006 in Washington, DC to help us plan for the rapid
development and distribution of a new standard for a Property &
Casualty (P&C) data model.
The meeting will feature an introduction to the OMG's
standardization process, an overview of the P&C work that has been
done thus far and how it is being used in the industry.
A detailed charter is available
here; the agenda for the day is as follows:
- Introduction (Bill Jenkins, Penn National & Richard Soley,
OMG)
- Overview of OMG and OMG process (Andrew Watson, OMG)
- Introduction to Model Driven Architecture (Jon Siegel, OMG)
- Service Oriented Architecture & Information Modeling (Harsh
Sharma, MetLife)
- Business Modeling (Phil Gilbert, Lombardi)
- Existing Data Model overview (Jim Boyd, Penn National)
- Open discussion on issues and plans moving forward
