OMG Announces Partnership with SIGS-DATACOM, Germany
Needham, MA - January 21, 2005 - The Object Management Group™ (OMG™)
today announced its partnership with SIGS-DATACOM, Germany. The
partnership will allow OMG and SIGS-DATACOM, Germany to work together to
produce high-quality industry events based in Europe. SIGS-DATACOM is a
leading supplier of IT conferences and IT seminars, i.e. the OOP
conference in Munich, the SET conference in Zurich and then TDWI
conference in Munich. In addition SIGS-DATACOM is the publisher of the two
leading German IT journals OBJEKTspektrum and JavaSPEKTRUM. In the year
2005 SIGS-DATACOM plans three event series with OMG for May, September and
October 2005.
"This exclusive relationship between OMG and SIGS-DATACOM,
especially in German media but also in other European countries, is an
important new step for both organizations," said Richard Mark Soley,
Chairman and CEO, Object Management Group. "Together, SIGS-DATACOM
and OMG will keep European audiences up-to-date with regards to OMG
technologies, including domain standards in healthcare and finance,
telecommunications and manufacturing, as well as Model Driven
Architecture® (MDA®), UML® and CORBA®."
SIGS-DATACOM now holds the legal rights to use the registered trademark
name "OMG Information Days." In June 2005 the OMG Information
Days will be held in Zurich (Switzerland), Munich and Frankfurt (both in
Germany) in close cooperation with OMG. The single track events will be
supported by OMG with regard to the technical program development.
Specifically, OMG will contribute a keynote speaker and will be present at
the respective event by their European representative. SIGS-DATACOM is in
the process of finalizing the website and all details regarding the new
OMG events. Specific information regarding the events will be available as
of January 30, 2005 at http://www.ltt.de.
The IT journal OBJEKTspektrum will also work in close cooperation with
the OMG as well. The publication's audience of software architects, IT
project leaders and advanced programmers/developers will receive
up-to-date information about OMG´s standardization topics as well as best
practices and case studies of the latest applications.
