Save the Date: OMG's Maximizing BPM Investments with SOA Workshop
David Linthicum, CEO, The Linthicum Group to Keynote
event on January 14-17, 2008 in Orlando, FL USA

Needham, MA, USA - August 13, 2007 - The Object Management Group™ (OMG™), today announced that the "Maximizing BPM Investments with SOA" workshop will be held January 14-17, 2008 in Orlando, FL, USA. Also announced is that David Linthicum, CEO, The Linthicum Group, will be giving the Keynote presentation. The workshop is co-sponsored by Silver Sponsors Mega and Telelogic. The preliminary program and registration details may be found online at http://www.omg.org/bpm-soa-pr

This workshop will provide guidance and evidence on how business leaders and technologists can apply an SOA approach in developing IT support of their business needs and processes. Drawing upon OMG's experience in developing software standards, attendees will gain valuable insight through tutorials, keynotes, presentations and demonstrations on how industry leaders have worked through the hype and are developing BPM solutions that maximize investment while meeting real-world needs.

Workshop Highlights Include:

  • Tutorials describing how SOA defines an architecture for business processes; modeling techniques for achieving business solutions; what standards mean to the business person; and the role of Event-driven Architecture (EDA).
  • Industry analyst David Linthicum's keynote address "Maximizing BPM Investments with SOA"
  • Session topics covering vertical market case studies and best practices; technical issues; strategic planning; and the "human factor."
  • Panels exploring (1.) a model-driven approach to BPM and SOA and (2.) cooperation among standards organizations.
  • A hands-on exercise in real-world problem solving. A team of experts will work with the audience to address a sample problem that showcases how available technology can be used to solve business problems. This will be a paper exercise not requiring or emphasizing any particular toolset. It will, however, set the stage for vendors in the demonstration area to follow up on how they specifically can solve this problem.

There will also be technology exhibits and demonstrations on Tuesday and Wednesday.
