OMG Announces InRule Technology as New Sponsor of the GRC Roundtable
Premier .NET Business Rule Engine Vendor to contribute to development of project
addressing IT Governance, Risk Management and Compliance challenges

Needham, MA, USA - November 20, 2007 - The Object Management Group™ (OMG™) and the Governance, Risk Management and Compliance Roundtable (GRC-RT™), today announced that InRule Technology™ (www.inrule.com) has become a Founding Sponsor of the GRC-RT and will be represented on the GRC-RT Steering Committee.

The GRC Roundtable is an open community of end-users, service providers, and technology vendors committed to developing and promoting standards-based resources for governance, risk management and compliance professionals. These resources enable end-user members to improve their internal GRC programs and vendor members to improve their commercial GRC offerings. An ongoing project of the GRC-RT and unique asset available to its members is the Global Rules Information Database (GRC-GRID or GRID); a resource for IT and business managers with global governance, risk management and regulatory compliance responsibilities.

"We are pleased to be a founding sponsor supporting the GRC Roundtable and the development of the GRC-GRID. As the cost of compliance grows, we find it increasingly important to identify and share best practices surrounding GRC, and the GRC-GRID will be an important asset for sharing common rules," said Paul Hessinger, CEO, InRule Technology. "I am looking forward to serving on the Steering Committee and helping to shape this important resource."

"InRule Technology is an innovator in business rule engine technology and business language authoring and dynamic decisioning in compliance related areas such as policy automation. Their unique perspective and contributed intellectual property will be invaluable to the GRC-RT community and the C-GRID project, and I welcome their support," said Dr. Adrian Bowles, program director, GRC Roundtable. "I am also pleased to have Paul participate on our Steering Committee. For over a decade he has been a trusted advisor to me, and his insights have already helped shape our plans. His continued participation will assure a high quality product."

About the GRC-GRID
The GRC-GRID is an open database of rules, regulations, standards, and government guidance documents that require IT action. It also captures best practice information, in the form of mappings between these documents and control frameworks used to ensure compliance. The GRID is designed to be the first stop for professionals who need to know:

  • Which rules apply to a particular firm?
  • What are the best practices for compliance with these rules? (Which combination of IT controls and procedures/policies are appropriate for a particular group)
  • What are the GRC related ramifications of business initiatives involving new markets or geographies?

The GRC-RT governs ongoing enhancements, promotes its use, and collaborates with rules-producing entities worldwide to oversee and automate data acquisition.

InRule Technology joins IBM (www.ibm.com) and Inferware Corporation (www.inferware.com) as GRC Roundtable Founding Sponsors. For more information about the GRC-RT, visit www.grcroundtable.org.
