OMG Members Elect New Member to Board of Directors
Joseph T. Brand, Vice President, Enterprise IT Architecture and
Chief Architect, MetLife® Joins Board

Needham, MA, USA - February 6, 2008 - The Object Management Group™ (OMG™) announces that Joseph T. Brand, Vice President, Enterprise IT Architecture and Chief Architect of MetLife, has been elected to the OMG Board of Directors. Mary Kotch, AVP, Enterprise Data Management at MetLife, will serve as the company's Alternate Board Member, and Harsh Sharma, Ph.D., will serve as MetLife's liaison on the OMG P&C standard and SOA activity.

Members of the OMG Board of Directors are responsible for fiscal and operational oversight, corporate strategy and strategic relationship oversight of OMG. Most importantly, members of the OMG Board of Directors are the final decision makers in the OMG Technology Adoption process and vote, based on the recommendations from the Technical Committee and Architecture Board, to adopt new OMG specifications.

His expertise and leadership will be especially important to our Property & Casualty (P&C) Insurance initiative," said Richard Mark Soley, Ph.D., Chairman and CEO of Object Management Group.
