GCIO Issues Call for Participation: Green Computing Think Tank
Beyond the Data Center: Greening Your Business Processes
Arlington, VA, USA; Tuesday, July 14, 2009

Needham, MA, USA - April 2, 2009 - The Green Computing Impact Organization (GCIO) today issued a Call for Participation for the Green Computing Think Tank, to be held in Arlington, VA, USA on Tuesday, July 14, 2009. Submissions are due on May 1, 2009. For more information, please visit http://www.gcio.org/agenda.html.

The GCIO Green Computing Think Tank is one in a series of on-going events looking at ways to improve sustainability for enterprises. This think tank session is entitled: Beyond the Data Center: Greening Your Business Processes and is a forum for GCIO members and non-members to present and discuss experiences, recommendations and visions on the use of Business Process optimization tools and approaches for maximizing sustainability / greening the business.

Submissions are limited to this focused topic and may include:

  • Real-life experience in the use of business process optimization strategies and tools for sustainability or for general optimization with sustainability (green) benefits realized
  • Innovative use of tools, models or management approaches for same
  • Governance experience / approaches for green business operations
  • Implementations of tools or services that may improve sustainability as it pertains to process management
  • Implementations of tools or services which could be used to baseline and measure improvements in business process optimization with features for measuring and monitoring sustainability

Submissions
The submission deadline is May 1, 2009. The program committee will consider all submissions. GCIO holds many events per year; if your submission is not selected for this event we may still contact you for another future opportunity. If you would only like your submission to be considered for the Arlington, VA event please indicate this on your paper.

All papers should be prepared in English. Submissions should be limited to a maximum of four pages in length and must include the title of the proposed session, a one-paragraph summary at the top of the paper and summary professional bio information. Submit papers to Program Director Karen Larkowski via e-mail at larkowski@gcio.org.
