Save the Date: OMG's Workshop on Distributed Object Computing for
Real-time and Embedded Systems

July 13-15, 2009, Washington, D.C., USA

Needham, MA, USA - May 6, 2009 - OMG™ today announced its Tenth Annual Workshop on Distributed Object Computing for Real-time and Embedded Systems, to be held July 13-15, 2009 in Washington, D.C., USA. This workshop will be co-located with other OMG workshops and special interest sessions including Government DTF Workshop; High Assurance Security; Green Computing and Cloud Computing. For more information on the Real-time & Embedded workshop, please visit http://www.omg.org/rte.

The OMG Data Distribution Service (DDS) Standard is a strong theme in this year's OMG Real-time & Embedded Systems workshop, with many presentations that touch on different aspects of this increasingly influential real-time middleware specification. The growing need to integrate embedded systems with enterprise-scale computing is covered, with talks on the mechanics of linking real-time & embedded technology to the Java Messaging Service, web-based clients and XML-based Enterprise middleware. Other papers focus on High-Assurance systems and the rapidly evolving field of real-time & embedded application configuration management.

The program opens with a day of in-depth tutorials from industry experts on using DDS and the UML® modeling of real-time and embedded systems. Attendees can look forward to an intense three-day learning experience, both from the formal tutorials and the two-day-long program of presentations from practical engineers working at the forefront of the rapidly-moving world of distributed real-time and embedded systems.

The workshop will feature presenters from organizations such as Commissariat a l'Energie Atomique-CEA/LIST; Naval Surface Warfare Center; PrismTech; Raytheon IDS Seapower Capability Center; Real-Time Innovations; Software Engineering Institute - CMU; Sogeti USA LLC; Sparx Systems; Thales Land & Joint Systems; Twin Oaks Computing; University of Granada, Spain; University of Rome "Sapienza"; and Vanderbilt University.

The early-bird registration discount is available until June 15, 2009. The hotel registration cut-off is June 26, 2009. Hotel and registration information is available at http://www.omg.org/rte. The OMG invites everyone interested in distributed, real-time and embedded systems to attend.

The workshop is sponsored by Annual Sponsors: No Magic, Inc.; SPARX Systems; Model Driven Solutions; Intel and Lombardi Software. Exhibit space is available; for more information contact Mike Narducci, mike@omg.org, +1-781-444 0404. Sponsorship opportunities are available; contact Ken Berk at ken.berk@omg.org or +1-781-444 0404.
