OMG Announces New Processes Open for
Participation
Needham, MA, USA - July 12, 2010 - OMG™ members met in
Minneapolis, MN the week of June 21-25, 2010, sponsored by
No Magic, Sparx Systems and Real Time Innovations. At this
meeting members began work on five new standards processes.
These processes are now open for comment and participation.
New Processes Initiated
UML®
Profile for BPMN™ Processes RFP
Architects supporting defense and business communities
using a UML-based tool chain would like to use BPMN for
modeling processes within that chain. This requires using
UML diagrams and BPMN process diagrams seamlessly together,
along with an interchange format that can convey the
combined usage, within UML tools. This RFP aims to enable
users to visualize UML models with BPMN process notation.
Robotics
Interaction Service (RoIS) Framework RFP
This RFP solicits proposals for a Platform Independent
Model (PIM) and a Platform Specific Model (PSM) for robotic
interaction service (RoIS) that specify: common interfaces
between robotic service applications and components that
provide functions for performing human-robot interaction;
and data structures for each interface.
Dynamic
Deployment and Configuration for Robot Technology Components
RFP
This RFP solicits proposals for the dynamic deployment
and configuration for Robot Technology (RT) components. In
particular, the RFP is looking for: Ways to search for and
deploy Robotic Technology Components (RTC) into robotic
systems at run-time; ways to notify the relevant RTC
instances of environment changes; and ways to search for
appropriate RTC instances and dynamically configure them.
Application
Programming Interfaces for Knowledge Base(s) RFP
This RFP targets mainly the basic administration
services as well as the retrieval and the modification of
knowledge in a Knowledge Base (KB) designed specifically for
use with knowledge representation languages supported by OMG
standards, including but not limited to those supported by
the Ontology
Definition Metamodel (ODM).
SysML™-Modelica
RFC
Integrating the descriptive power of SysML models with
the analytic and computational power of Modelica models
provides a capability that is significantly greater than
SysML or Modelica individually. The objectives of this
document are to enable and specify a standardized
bi-directional transformation between the two modeling
languages that will support implementations to efficiently
and automatically transfer the modeling information transfer
between SysML and Modelica models without ambiguity.
