Cloud Standards Customer Council
Announces Case Study Competition
Contest Open to Organizations in All Industries
Including Government
That Have Completed Successful Cloud Computing Projects
Needham, MA, USA - June 21, 2011 - The Cloud Standards
Customer Council (CSCC), managed by OMG® and in partnership
with BPTrends, today announced its first annual Cloud
Computing Case Study Competition. The competition is open to
organizations of all sizes, including government agencies,
that have successfully delivered business or mission value
using cloud computing. For more information and to submit a
case study visit http://www.cloud-council.org/2011contest.
The goal of the Cloud Computing Case Study Competition is
to highlight business success stories and lessons learned to
provide proof points and insights for other organizations
considering or pursuing cloud computing adoption. "We
are very pleased to be collaborating with the CSCC and OMG
on this important Case Study Competition," said Celia
Wolf, CEO and Publisher of BPTrends, "and we look
forward to publishing the winners."
"We know cloud computing is being used, and there
are nascent standards and definitions, but how does one
mitigate the risks of the transition? The competition is
seeking real case studies that we can learn from, on how to
avoid problems, and help to guarantee success of those
companies that are still considering the move to cloud
computing," said Richard Mark Soley, Ph.D., chairman
and CEO, OMG.
To qualify for the contest, the cloud project must be
complete with demonstrated business results. All types of
cloud projects are eligible for the competition, including
public, private and hybrid.
Entries will be judged on the complexity of the business
problem addressed, the ROI/Business Value achieved
(Agility/Innovation/Flexibility), the level and
sophistication of the cross-organizational collaboration
(Business/Technical), the usage of cloud approaches and
supporting technology and lessons learned. In addition to
one overall winner, organizations will be recognized by
industry/government.

An esteemed panel of experts will be judging the case
study submissions. Panel members include:
- Paul Harmon, Founder, Executive Editor, BPTrends
- Jack Vaughan, Editor in Chief, SearchSOA.com
- Melvin Greer, Senior Fellow and Chief Strategist,
