Semantics in Finance Webinar

Needham, MA – November 29, 2011 – Representatives from OMG®, Enterprise Data Management  (EDM Council), SWIFT and XBRL will be presenting a free webinar, “Semantics in Finance,” on Thursday, December 8, 2011 at 8:00 a.m. PST/11:00 a.m. EST. This webinar will explore the issues around semantic interoperability, especially as they pertain to financial institutions. Presenters will discuss why financial institutions should care about semantic interoperability, and how the various semantics standardization efforts underway within different standards organizations fit together.

During the webinar on December 8, 2011, representatives from OMG, the EDM Council, SWIFT and XBRL will answer these questions and more. Representatives will explore the complimentary efforts around finance semantics standards of each the participating organizations. Representatives from each organization will describe the various semantics efforts in their group, and how all of these efforts/standards will work together without stepping on each other’s toes or conflicting in any way.
