Needham, MA – January 11, 2012 – OMG® and the
Business Process Incubator (BPI) have joined forces to
enhance the Business Process Model and Notation
specification’s website, BPMN.org, with more content and
tools. The site is now live at
http://www.bpmn.org.
BPMN is a graphical notation that depicts the steps in a
business process. BPMN depicts the end to end flow of a
business process. The notation has been specifically
designed to coordinate the sequence of processes and the
messages that flow between different process participants in
a related set of activities. This widely used and
implemented standard (73 current and three planned
implementations to date) is in use in both industry and
government projects. BPMN.org provides information to
organizations looking to implement the standard.
The new BPMN.org site will feature:
- Improved navigation and more useful format, making
it easier to find information
- More resources, including libraries, guides,
implementations, links to available tools
- A comprehensive search function
- Links to related content including OMG certification
programs
“By partnering with BPI, OMG will be able to offer our
members and visitors to BPMN.org an even better experience
with improved BPMN.org functionality, and more resources
thanks to Business Process Incubator. For OMG members, we
will be rolling out widgets for the myOMG personanalized web
portals, providing even more resources to members,” said
William Hoffman, president, OMG.
Denis Gagné of Business Process Incubator added, “We are
very happy to partner with OMG and contribute to the
promotion of BPMN from OMG as the leading process modeling
standard. This is a great showcase of how Business Process
Incubator can provide relevant evergreen resources to our
partners.”
