on the Internet of Things to be Held in New Brunswick, NJ
Will feature discussions and case studies from industry
leaders
Needham, MA- 07-31-2013- The Object Management Group
(OMG®) is pleased to announce that it will be hosting the
special event, "The Internet of Things- Navigating the
Future of Information Technology", at its quarterly
technical meeting at the Hyatt Regency in New Brunswick, NJ.
The event will take place on Wednesday, September 25th at
9am EST and will feature a distinguished panel of speakers
from industry-leading organizations including General
Electric, Lockheed Martin and PrismTech.
The all-day event will focus on the increasing number of
networked devices that have appeared on the market in recent
years and will contribute to forming the foundation of the
Internet of Things. In particular, the use of the OMG Data
Distribution Service (DDS) standard will be discussed. Case
studies detailing DDS's uses in Smart Cities, Smart Energy,
and Transportation will provide a basis as to the
specification's capabilities in regards to Internet of
Things applications.
The keynote speech, "Minds + Machines", will be
delivered by Joe Salvo, Manager of Business Integration
Technologies at General Electric. The talk will discuss the
Industrial Internet: an open, global network that connects
machines, people, and data.
Finally, the OMG Systems Assurance Task Force will
discuss its work on creating a suite of specifications that
is capable of importing common facts into an OMG repository,
the Knowledge Discovery Metamodel, which can then be queried
to produce tailored assurance reports as needed by program
certifiers.
This seminar is for anyone who has or even hasn't yet
heard the buzzwords: "Internet of Things",
"Industrial Internet", and
"machine-to-machine" and has wondered what they
are and how they can be used.
Registration fees for the event begin at $199 USD.
Interested members of the public are encouraged to attend.
