OMG Hosts Successful Meeting in New Brunswick, NJ
Board of Director elections held; Many technologies adopted

Needham, MA- 10-09-2013-The Object Management Group (OMG®) held its quarterly technical meeting at the Hyatt Regency in New Brunswick, NJ from September 22nd-26th.

TASK FORCE/WORKING GROUP MEETING HIGHLIGHTS

The week featured a meeting of the new Security Fabric Working Group (SFWG). A proposed Security Fabric Framework would take a "Security in Depth" strategy for Application, Middleware and Platform security by provisioning security silicon approaches and standard firmware-based management approaches. BOARD OF DIRECTORS (BOD) MEETING HIGHLIGHTS

The OMG BOD elected two new members to its rank (Manish Patil, Dell and Said Tabet, EMC) as well as re-electing ten members who have already held seats.

TECHNOLOGIES ADOPTED

The BOD adopted multiple technologies at the meeting. These include the Web-enabled DDS submission.

Also adopted were the finalized versions of the Property & Casualty Data Model 1.0, Services Directory 1.0, and Automated Function Point 1.0. The revised IDL to C++11 Language Mapping 1.1, Common Terminology Services 2 1.1, and Semantics of Business Vocabulary and Rules 1.2 were also adopted.
