Initial roadmap
1. Create a repository of
prior ontology work and identify important features and differences in
approach.
2. Develop guidelines for
other groups within the OMG to develop their own ontologies relating to
domain specific areas
3. Develop MDA-related
specifications for ontology representation, such as UML profiles for major
ontology representation languages (e.g., a UML Profile for DAML+OIL and
OWL (W3C) RFP).
4. Identify
ontology-specific specifications that will support the OMG community's
efforts for realizing the benefits of ontology technology.
5. Develop MOF metamodel (and possible MOF extensions) for ontology
definition RFP (to support OWL, DAML+OIL, RDF and similar activities)
