The Logical 03100 - Reporting - Store Operations - Macro View subject area includes summary reporting entities that deal with store-level activity.  Store-level transaction summary are provided for

Store-level Reporting Period Summary (pink block) includes the StoreHistory entity which rolls up reporting period counts, monetary totals, percentages and elapsed time for a store;

Operator Level Reporting Periods Summary (yellow block) includes the OperatorHistory and OperatorTenderHistory entity types which roll up transactional data by individual Operator.  This entity support retailers that choose to implement tender control and sales/return activity accountability to individual operators for each reporting period;

Session Level Reporting Periods Summary (lime green block) includes Session.  Unlike the preceding two summary levels the Session entity's time interval is bounded by a SessionStartDateTimeStamp and a SessionEndDateTimeStamp.  A Session summarizes all activity performed by a specific Operator at a specific Workstation.  Session is intended to support point of sale auditing and control; and

Workstation Level Reporting Period Summary (blue) includes WorkstationHistory.  This entity rolls up transaction data by Workstation.  This entity supports retailers that choose to implement tender control and sales/return accountability to individual workstations.

The Control Transactions topic provides an explanation of how session, operator, workstation and other accountability states are set up and torn down.  Also, while a Session typically does not cross ReportingPeriod boundaries it is likely that a ReportingPeriod may include multiple Session entity instances.
