OMG Announces Special Events at Its Technical Meeting in New Brunswick, NJ
All interested parties are invited to attend

Needham, MA- 08-07-2013- The Object Management Group (OMG®) is pleased to announce that it will be hosting a plethora of exciting special events during its quarterly technical meeting at the Hyatt Regency in New Brunswick, NJ. The meeting will run from Monday, September 23rd to Friday September 27th. The schedule of special events includes the following:

  • Bridging from Semantics to Analytics Conference on Wednesday will stress the importance of employing financial data semantics in business operations as well as spotlight case studies of multinational financial service corporations that have had great success using semantics.

  • The Consortium for Information & Software Quality (CISQ) Seminar on using software measures in productivity and quality improvement programs will take place on Wednesday. Specific presentations will include an introduction to structural quality analysis and technical debt, a comparison of best and worst practices in productivity analysis and improvement, and a discussion on measuring and managing software security. A spotlight will be shone on the OMG Automated Function Point specification which was proposed and led to adoption by CISQ.

  • The Internet of Things- Navigating the Future of Information Technology on Wednesday will focus on the increasing number of networked devices that have appeared on the market in recent years and will contribute to forming the foundation of the Internet of Things. In particular, the use of the OMG Data Distribution Service (DDS) standard will be discussed. Case studies detailing DDS's uses in Smart Cities, Smart Energy, and Transportation will provide a basis as to the specification's capabilities in regards to Internet of Things applications.
