Defines different categories of PromotionInitiatives. These categories apply to PromotionalInitiatives (which are aimed at retailer customers) as well as ConversionInitiatives (which are aimed at consumers who may or may not be customers of the retailer). Samples include: PROMOTIONAL_OFFER - promotion that rewards customers with discounts, free items, bonus loyalty points, free trips and other things offered in return for customers taking some action a retailer desires. ADVERTISING - promotion that informs and generates awareness. Does not (by itself) involve a customer reward EDUCATION - promotion that offers technical, application or other non-sales information to help customers choose and use products and services SOCIAL_INTEREST - promotions that donate money, time and other retailer resources to charitable organizations for social benefits not retailer profitability OTHER - Anything else. Retailers may use, extend and change this list. This is a list of suggested PromotionTypes.
