Industry reference models are one of the most widely requested aspects of
business architecture. Businesses are seeking industry-specific capability
maps, value maps and other business architecture artifacts to jumpstart
their business architecture efforts. In addition, certain industries have
found that common views of their business ecosystems are advantages to
business-to-business engagement. To address this growing need, the Business
Architecture Guild, along with the OMG, is sponsoring the Business
Architecture Reference Model Building Workshop on December 8 and 9, 2015 in
La Jolla, CA.
Attendees will gain key insights and hands on experience from these sessions
and gain access to the reference model deliverables resulting from these
working sessions. The two-day workshop will involve plenary sessions
outlining the mapping approach, principles and framework and breakout
sessions will focus on industry-specific mapping. The Business Architecture
Guild surveyed its membership and based on survey results and related
industry analysis, mapping sessions will focus on three industries; Financial
Services, Healthcare Providers and Manufacturing.
Each session will focus on capability mapping, value stream mapping,
information mapping and selected cross-mappings based on time. The results
will be packaged during and after the sessions and shared with attendees.
Ultimately, the Business Architecture Guild will publish these and other
industry reference models as part of Guild content.
Workshop participants will gain value from these sessions through the hands
on mapping experience. If you are in one of the selected industries, or a
related industry, you will gain immediate benefit from this exercise and be
able to incorporate the results into your company's business architecture.
If you work in a different industry, your will still gain valuable insights
into the hands on session and collaborative nature of the work. These
sessions are invaluable because they will be lead by industry
experts who will provide valuable insights. Please join
us for this exciting step in moving business architecture to the next level.
If you are relatively new to the discipline, please join us for the 1-dayBusiness Architecture ImmersionSession that will be held on December 7,
