Release for Production RFP

The ManTIS's Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) Working Group issued an ERP-related RFP, "Release for Production", mfg/98-07-05. The RFP, issued by the OMG on August 1, 1998.

The Objective of the RFP was to establish standard interfaces by which manufacturing scheduling and execution systems can exchange with the enterprise planning and engineering systems the information required to schedule, execute and report on a manufacturing order from the enterprise Master Production Schedule.. Objects supporting these interfaces are typically managed by Enterprise Resource Planning systems, but may also be found in systems with other designations, e.g. Factory Planning systems, Manufacturing Execution systems, Product Data Management systems, recipe managers, etc. Services defined in responses to this RFP may be implemented by diverse systems supporting a distributed Release-for- Production environment. This RFP solicits proposals for interfaces supporting one or more of the following business objects: · Manufacturing Orders · Manufacturing Bill of Material · Item Descriptions: finished goods, materials, component parts, etc. · Process Specifications (routings, recipes, etc.) · Tooling and possibly other business objects needed to complete these interfaces.

The Letter of Intent (LOI) deadline for the RFP passed without submission. The RFP was retired.

ERP Request for Information (RFI)

The ERP Working Group prepared and distributed an RFI, (mfg/96-09-02).
