How to Register

To take any of the OMG examinations in English, worldwide, follow the links and instructions on this page. If you take your test in English, your Certification will be administered by the OMG.

The first two levels of this program - Foundation and Intermediate- have been upgraded to OCUP 2 at this time; Advanced will follow in late 2016. If you're ready to move to Advanced level (Congratulations!), you may follow up your OCUP 2 Intermediate certification (which is prerequisite) by paying for (including by voucher) and taking the original OCUP Advanced exam now and, when it publishes, taking the corresponding OCUP 2 version for free

Follow the instructions on this page to create your personal account at the Pearson VUE website and schedule appointments to take these examinations. For details on applying to OMG for a voucher to take the OCUP 2 Intermediate exam for free if you have already taken the original OCUP version, look here

A NOTE ABOUT CONTENT: The OCUP 2 program contains ALL NEW MATERIAL - No questions were carried over from the original OCUP examinations, and the point of view has been shifted to favor modeling applications of UML in place of the metamodel orientation of the original OCUP. In particular, candidates should not study from the original OCUP Certification Guide since the material in this book does not prepare for the new Foundation exam. Instead, consult the OCUP 2 Foundation Coverage Map web page for suggestions on what and how to study.

Certain OMG examinations are available in Japanese in Japan only, administered by the UML Technology Institute (UTI). If you wish to take an exam in Japanese, follow the instructions at www.umlcert.org (Japanese language UTI site) or www.umlcert.org/en (English language UTI site).

If you haven't already done so, please review the FAQ section on "Registering for and Scheduling Your Exam".

ATTENTION: OMG is not responsible for the scheduling or rescheduling of exams, or for exam refunds. These matters must be facilitated through our testing partner Pearson VUE. Furthermore, OMG strongly stresses the importance of carefully reviewing your confirmation letter sent by Pearson VUE upon scheduling an exam. OMG runs four different certification programs, and it is your responsibility to ensure that you have registered for the one you want.
