Eclipse Foundation and OMG announce 3rd Biannual Workshop on Eclipse Open Source Software & OMG Open Specifications
Sunday 25th March 2012, Reston, Virginia, USA

Needham, MA, USA and Ottawa, ON, Canada – January 10, 2012 – OMG® and the Eclipse Foundation have announced the 3rd Biannual Workshop on Eclipse Open Source Software and OMG Open Specifications to be held March 25, 2012 in Reston, Virginia, USA. For more information visit https://www.omg.org/EclipseOMG2012

Eclipse is an open source community whose projects are focused on building an open development platform comprised of extensible frameworks, tools and runtimes for building, deploying and managing software across the lifecycle. Many Eclipse projects implement one or more OMG specifications. This workshop follows successful one-day events that Eclipse and OMG jointly organized in 2008 and 2010 to promote and build on the partnership between Eclipse's open source software and OMG's open specifications. It will include a series of discussion sessions on OMG standards and corresponding Eclipse projects, to facilitate alignment between current specifications and implemented software, and identify areas where the cooperation could be further improved in future.

OMG is holding its quarterly Technical Meeting in Reston during the week of March 19-23, while EclipseCon North America 2012 is being held in the same venue on March 26-29. Holding this joint event on the intervening weekend therefore makes it convenient for participants in either event to attend.

The full program for the event will be posted at https://www.omg.org/EclipseOMG2012
