Object Management Group Issues Request for Proposals for a FACE Profile for UAF
Will enhance standardization and support integration into OMG standards-based tools

Needham, MA – November 5, 2018 – The Object Management Group® (OMG®), an international, open membership, not-for-profit technology standards consortium, issued a FACE™ (Future Airborne Capability Environment) Profile for UAF RFP, which seeks proposals to allow representation of The Open Group FACE Technical Standard for use with the OMG Unified Architecture Framework® (UAF®) standard. This profile would provide a FACE-aware whole-enterprise context that places FACE components within a larger system-of-systems architecture, enabling description and analysis of the impact of the FACE components on complex systems.

Both members and non-members of OMG can participate in the process by submitting a Letter of Intent by January 15, 2019. In order to become a submitter, individually or as part of a submission team, companies must become members of OMG by the initial submission deadline of August 26, 2019.

According to Larry Johnson, vice president and technical director at OMG, ”Providing a FACE Profile that supports MBE model development will enhance standardization, and support integration into OMG standards-based tools. This profile will reduce costs and risks by providing a path to inclusion of FACE model artifacts in UAF and provide modeling integration with compatible technologies. It will also enhance the U.S. military aviation community’s ability to address issues of limited software reuse and increased warfighter capabilities, as well as, enable the community to take advantage of new technologies more rapidly and affordably.”
