OMG and ISO Standards for Digital Twins

The OMG Standards Development Organization (SDO) is very active in several areas that facilitate the integration and interoperability of digital twins. This includes the recently adopted Systems Modeling Language (SysML) v2, work in the manufacturing and product lifecycle domain, standard platforms for ontology development and sharing, and emerging standards in AI.

In parallel, work is going on in the ISO/IEC joint subcommittee on Internet of Things and Digital Twin (SC 41), with working groups dedicated to IoT architecture, interoperability, applications, and digital twin.

Introduction to Digital Engineering – DoD 5000.97 Overview

Digital engineering is a means of using and integrating digital models and the underlying data to support the development, test and evaluation, and sustainment of a system. These collaborative digital environments are key to involving all stakeholders in developing models, executing simulations, and performing analysis and optimizations for the digital models or digital twins.

OMG members will be able attend any sessions of our sister consortia during the meeting week by completing and submitting a Non-Member Contribution and License Agreement (NMCLA) webform. All members will need to sign a new form for 2024!
